Junghan Kim is a contemporary artist based in Seoul and Okayama, working between Korea and Japan. His practice explores the relationship between language, image, and space through painting.

In his ongoing InnerSpace series, Kim uses written language not simply as a means of communication, but as a visual element within painting. Through repetition, layering, distortion, and arrangement, letters gradually lose their readability and become forms that create rhythm, density, texture, and empty space. Rather than conveying a fixed meaning, language becomes part of the painting’s visual structure.

For Kim, InnerSpace refers to an inner world of feelings and traces that cannot always be expressed through words. His paintings explore the space between what can be read and what can be felt, inviting viewers to move beyond the habit of reading and discover their own sense of InnerSpace.
